Former Hamilton PD officer arrested on a felony charge

HAMILTON — A former Hamilton Police Department officer has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor child exploitation charges. Mardrea Dashawn Massey, also known as Drea Massey, 31, of Sulligent, was arrested on Tuesday, April 21, on a felony charge of a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student who is under the age of 19 years, along with a misdemeanor charge of, being a school employee, distributing or transmitting obscene matter that depicts sexual matters. Massey was placed in the Marion County Jail.
While charges Massey face are related to being a school employee, he was not a dedicated school police/resource officer, according to a statement released by HPD Chief Jordan Carter.
