Norma Jean Roberts
Mrs. Norma Jean Roberts, 76, of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. She was born on Aug. 8, 1949, in Haleyville, Ala., to Coy and Bernice Baggott Britnell.
Norma Jean was a member of Myers Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She spent much of her life as a devoted homemaker, caring for husband and daughter. Later in life, she worked in the dietary department at Sunset Manor Nursing Facility until her retirement. She found joy in simple pleasures like sewing, tending to her flower beds and cooking for her family. One of her favorite pastimes was collecting recipes from magazines, cutting them out and organizing them into binders that she treasured.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband of 60 years, Billy Jack Roberts; her sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Waldrop (Dennis); nieces and nephews, Robbie Waldrep, Michelle Abbott, Kaylon Bowen, Anna Waldrop, Jay Waldrop, Landon Waldrop, Jeana Estes, Kathy Roberts and Johnny Mack Roberts; cousins, Martine Miles, Charlene Wilson and Wayne Gann; and a host of other extended family and friends.
Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Norma Michelle Roberts; brother, J.C. Britnell; and cousin, James Mack Roberts.
Funeral services for Mrs. Roberts were held on Nov. 7, 2025, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Myers Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
