Winfield’s 52nd Annual Mule Day Sept. 25-26

WINFIELD — Winfield’s 52nd Annual Mule Day festival, one of the longest-running festivals in the southeast, is coming up on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25-26.
Mule Night begins with shopping at 5 p.m. that Friday night, and will run late with Mule Night Madness sales at local retailers.
The Mule Night 5k, sponsored by Encore, will start at midnight, with on-site registration opening at 10:30 p.m.
Mule Day resumes Saturday morning around 7 a.m., and the parade will reach downtown at 11 a.m. There will also be mule judging, a car show and antique tractors featured again this year.
There will be a free shuttle service again this year on Saturday.
This year’s live music lineup begins on Friday night with Nikki Moore and The Cooter Brown Band at Citizens Bank.
The annual Mule Night Bluegrass Jamboree will be held on the Mountain Dew Stage at the RW Harris store. The jamboree will feature the Reed Family, Stateline Strings and the Jeff Long Band.
Saturday will feature Bama Dancers, Dynamic Dance and the Chase Evan Band.
Winfield Chamber of Commerce President Candice Luts said that another classic staple of Mule Day will be returning this year.
“There will be mule judging again this year,” Luts said. “It is the 52nd Annual Mule Day, so we are getting up there in years!”
