State funding secured for Brilliant infrasture improvements

BRILLIANT-The Town of Brilliant has secured over $4 million in state funding toward infrastructure improvements over the last four years, according to a press release sent out by State Senator Garlan Gudger’s office.
The improvements are also aimed to aid development efforts along I-22.
“More businesses on I-22 means more revenue to benefit the town and local residents of Brilliant,” Gudger said. “Having industrial and commercial sites available and ready to go is important to attract new jobs and tax base to Marion County in our senate district, and I will do all I can to secure the funding to have the sites prepared and ready.”
The grants include a $2,436,475 grant through the Alabama Department of Environmental Management in 2023 for sewer system improvements, $1,541,150 through ADEM for improvements to the water system and $199,500 through an Appalachian Regional Commission grant from ADECA for the construction of a new water tank.
