Jazz musician Eric Essix coming to Pastime March 14
WINFIELD - The Pastime Theatre in Winfield is pleased to announce that talented jazz musician Eric Essix will take the stage on Saturday, March 14, at 7 p.m.
Pam Tillis set to perform on Valentine’s Day weekend
WINFIELD - The historic Pastime Theatre in Winfield has announced its 2020 Concert Series which will begin on Saturday, Feb. 15, with season headliner Pam Tillis and her trio.
“This group performed at The Pastime Theatre several years ago and we are delighted to bring them back again for our Valentine concert,” said Mary Hyche, Pastime Theatre board chairman.
Prior to the concert, theatre goers may have dinner next door at the Pastime Civic Center. Dinner tickets are $20 and reservations are required.
Valentine Sweetheart Pageant to be held on Feb. 9
WINFIELD - The Pastime Theatre in Winfield will present the 13th Annual Mr. and Miss Valentine Sweetheart Pageant at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Winfield Elementary School Auditorium.
Sunday dress, semi-formal or formal attire is acceptable and Queens and Kings in each group will receive a sash and a crown.
Side awards include most beautiful/handsome, best fashion, prettiest hair, smile, eyes and most photogenic. Winners in each of the events will receive a sash.
‘End of Summer’ concert set for Aug. 24
WINFIELD - School is back in session and the lazy days of summer have ended.
The Pastime Theatre in Winfield wants to invite everyone to attend an “End of Summer” concert featuring two area acts.
“If we must say, ‘Goodbye,’ to summer, then let us say, ‘Goodbye,’ with a fantastic concert that is economically-priced, too,” said Pastime Theatre Board Chairwoman Mary Hyche.
The Winfield theater will be presenting the “End of Summer” concert on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m.
Consumed by Fire to perform at Pastime Theatre
WINFIELD - The contemporary Christian group Consumed by Fire is set to engulf the Pastime Theatre stage on Saturday, June 15, at 7 p.m.
The group, composed of three brothers--Caleb, Josh and Jordan Ward--began in 2010 and hail from Oklahoma.
The group is a musically-inventive Southern pop/rock band that combines their church roots with an eclectic array of influences distilled into a sound that is uniquely their own.
Local theater awarded art grants
HAMILTON - The Alabama State Council on the Arts has awarded the Pastime Theatre in Winfield two grants this year totaling $5,700.
