HAMILTON - Marion County Schools will roll back its virtual program to cater only towards those in grades 7-12.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic which broke out in March 2020, the system offered its virtual program to grades 3-12 beginning in December 2019. Per state education health mitigation measures, that grade range was required to be expanded to K-12 during the 2020-2021 school year.
The Marion County Board of Education unanimously voted in favor of an amended virtual academy handbook during its May meeting held on Friday, May 21, following a presentation of proposed changes by system administrator Patrick Sutton and virtual learning specialist Lyndsay McCollum.
