SUMITON – Bevill State Community College (BSCC) has announced the appointment of Chris Harris as the new head coach of Bevill State’s Women’s Softball Team, located on the college’s Sumiton Campus.
Harris has an overall record of 301-137 in nine seasons as a head softball coach at Parrish High School and Huntsville High School. He made the state playoffs all nine seasons with five Area Championships during those years.
Coach Harris was voted by the Daily Mountain Eagle in Jasper as Softball Coach of the Year twice in 2009 and 2013. He was also named the Huntsville City Coach of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Harris was named the 2013 1A Coach of the Year while winning a State Championship at Parrish High School. He has coached four Bryant-Jordan Scholarship winners in his nine years and seventeen of his players signed college scholarships to play softball.
