Sharon Gunnin

Mrs. Sharon Gunnin, 78, of Hackleburg, Ala., passed away peacefully at her home on May 5, 2023. She was born Sept. 26, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio., to Dell and Virginia Young. She was the oldest of eight children. Sharon spent her life always working. She raised five kids, step-children, and grandchildren in addition to working as a CNA and at the trailer plant.
Sharon sowed love and hard work into her children and grandchildren. She was beloved to all who knew her. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hackleburg and loved the Lord tremendously. She was known as a praying Mom, Grandmother, and Friend. She was the heart of her family and what a legacy she will leave behind for the generations of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Clay Gunnin; son, Craig Gunnin; granddaughters, Jennifer Hill and Kayla Howell; grandsons, Paul and Danny Jennings; and five brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her son, Brian Gunnin; daughters, Jackie Lolley and Michelle Gunnin; son, Greg (Amanda) Gunnin; step-daughters, Charlene Wiginton, Kathy Freeman, Christine Price, Judy Callis, Donna Harris and Tammy Gunnin; eighteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Jim) Sanders; and special friend, Sharon Fincher.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the Hackleburg First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Cedar Tree Cemetery.
