Winfield Public Library partakes in Library Card Sign-Up Month

WINFIELD — The Winfield Public Library is encouraging people to sign up for a library card as part of Library Card Sign-Up month in September. The library has partnered with local businesses who have agreed to give a discount to anyone who presents their library card.
Also during September, the library will be forgiving late fines. Whether the book is five days late or five years late, the fine will be waived. Patrons who come in to update their library card will not have to pay the replacement fee either.
In addition, they will be having a basket giveaway of movies, books, games and snacks. Just check something out from the library to be entered. There is a limit of one entry per card per day.
Local businesses offering discounts are as follows: Abby Nicole’s, 10 percent off regular priced item; Aromas Cafe, 10 percent off purchase; Cajun Connection, one free tea; Cindy’s Hair, $2 off color, $1 off cut, $1 off sup.; Frisco Street Bakeshop, one free cookie; Gold Connection, 15 percent off regular priced item; Heavenly Hands Massage, 25 percent off purchase; Icey Gator, $1 off SnoShake; Judy’s Secret Garden, 15 percent off purchase; Kutters Hair Salon, one free eyebrow wax; Magnolia Soap, five percent off purchase; Pirates & Pixies Boutique, 15 percent off purchase; Pizza Bar, 10 percent off purchase; The Grapevine at R.W. Harris Store, 15 percent off regular priced item; Spann Hardware, free drink with $25 purchase; Sweet Willow Boutique, 10 percent off purchase; Win Nutrition, $1 off any tea or shake.
