Regional tournament complete

HANCEVILLE — Three Marion County teams remain in the AHSAA Northwest Regional Tournament as of Monday, Feb. 19.

Hamilton
The Hamilton Lady Aggies defeated Rogers 62-53 in the sub-regional round.
The Lady Aggies played Priceville on Monday in the regional semifinals and lost 47-42 in a nail-biter, giving them a 25-6 season.
Hamilton’s boys lost the sub-regional round to Deshler to bring their season to a close with a record of 17-11.

Marion County
The Marion County Lady Red Raiders played in the regional final round on Monday against the Belgreen Bulldogs. Their 60-48 win against Belgreen pairs them with either Keith or Calhoun for the state semifinals on Feb. 26.
The Lady Raiders won sub-regionals in a close game against the Hackleburg Lady Panthers. The Lady Raiders won 44-43.
In the regional semifinal last Wednesday, the Lady Red Raiders defeated Shoals Christian 63-56.
Marion County’s boys’ team also defeated Hackleburg in the sub-regional round 73-35.
But in the semifinals, the Red Raiders would fall to the Covenant Christian Eagles 66-57 to bring their season to an end with an overall record of 24-9.

Hackleburg
Hackleburg’s boys ended their season with an overall record of 7-13, and their girls ended with a record of 17-9.
Winfield
The Winfield Pirates played against the Danville Hawks last Friday afternoon but lost the game 49-43, ending their season 19-10.
Winfield had previously defeated Elkmont 55-44 in the sub-regional game.
The Winfield Lady Pirates’ season came to an end in their sub-regional game with a 49-19 loss against the Clements Lady Colts.
The Lady Pirates ended their season with a record of 10-13
