Hackleburg shuts out Talladega


It’s tradition for Hackleburg players to scale the wall for playoff wins. One team member takes it one step further as he performs a back flip off the wall.

HACKLEBURG — Hackleburg High School shut out Talladega Central in a double header Friday, April 19, in the first round of playoffs.
In the first game, Hackleburg won 10-0, Blaise Vickery struck out 12 batters and only allowed 2 hits in the win. JonHasten Stidham had 2 runs and 2 RBIs, Ross Hudson had 2 runs and Carson Swinney, JaQuan Reeder, Aydan Beard, Kross Weeks and Seth Ables had 1 run each. Beard also had an RBI.
In the second game, Hackleburg soared 15-0 and only played 2 innings. Beard struck out 6 batters and allowed no hits. Hudson and Blaise Vickery had 3 runs; Stidham, Reeder and Kross Weeks had 2 runs; and Cam Ingram, Maddox Vickery and Ables had 1 run each. Stidham had 4 RBIs, Reeder and Ingram had 1 RBI and Edge Weeks had 2 RBIs…
