The Great Christmas Sweater Gala was a fun-time fundraiser

We attend many, many meetings. We attend far fewer Christmas parties. Yet... we couldn’t resist supporting Kids for Life and their recent fundraiser, “The Great Christmas Sweater Gala.” Promoted was “Dress Tacky, Give Generously, Celebrate Kids for Life.” What’s not to love about a chance to dress tacky and support a good cause?
Kids for Life IS the support organization for all things related to foster care in Marion County. Currently, there are 48 children in foster care here, although there are only 12 licensed homes in the county.

HAMILTON — During the National Foster Care Month of May, the Journal Record was invited to an open house to tour the new Restoration Family Services and Kids for Life facility in Hamilton.

HAMILTON — The Kids for Life organization, along with Marion County Department of Human Resources and several local volunteers were able to bring the magic of Christmas to Marion County’s foster families this past week.
Kids for Life, a non profit organization started by Hamilton resident Melissa Mathieson, held the event to give gifts and food to foster children and their foster parents during the holiday season.
The event was held at First Baptist Church, who also provided the meal for the event in Hamilton on Thursday, Dec. 15.
