NTN-Bower closing; phase out over the next 18 months

HAMILTON — In a press release dated March 19, NTN USA announced it is initiating a significant transformation of its North American Automotive and Industrial manufacturing operations.
As part of the changes, they noted the NTN-Bower plant located in Hamilton will ramp down operations and close over the next 18 months.
Their Macomb, Ill., location actions will begin to transfer production of Automotive Constant-Velocity Joints components to existing NTN locations in other regions. NTN Bower in Macomb will now focus on supporting the Industrial OEM and Industrial Aftermarket business segments.
The company said these changes are part of its strategic initiative and will streamline its manufacturing footprint, improve overall effectiveness and efficiency across the business segment, while maintaining quality and delivery to customers.
