Winfield police make their move

WINFIELD — The Winfield City Police Department has now officially moved out of city hall and into the old National Guard armory building located at 700 Rock Ridge Road.
The armory building was home to the National Guard’s 166th Engineer Company for many years, until it was shut down in 2017. Last year, the City of Winfield purchased the property and began renovating the structure into a new police station and court facility.
Currently, the only operational renovation is the police station offices. The building also features a large central room which will be converted into two floors of training classrooms and any other rooms or offices needed by the police or the local circuit court.
