Rodney Earl Cochran

Rodney Earl Cochran, of Golden, Miss., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Northwest Alabama Medical Center in Muscle Shoals, Ala., after a brief illness. Rodney was born Feb. 2, 1966, in Flint, Mich.
He attended elementary school in Flushing, Mich., and Rodney’s family moved from Michigan to Hamilton, Ala., where he graduated from Hamilton High School in 1984. After high school, he was a member of the Army/National Guard. He attended Bevill State Community College, where he received an AA degree in aviation mechanics. He was an over-the-road and local truck driver for 35 years and enjoyed seeing the United States, Canada and Mexico throughout his profession. He loved life, lived large and enjoyed his family and friends. Fishing, hunting, woodworking, barbecuing, swimming, talking and going out dancing were among his hobbies. He was a member of the Cedar Tree Methodist Church in Hackleburg.
He was a proud father, being survived by his daughter Elaina Yvonne Cochran and Drew; his son, Jamie-Lee Vincent Cochran; his nieces, Heather Taylor (Quick) and Jessica Hicks (Quick); his mother, Esther "Bonnie" Cochran (Filmore); his aunt, Elaine Roberts (Filmore); his estranged wife, Crystal Bickerstaff; his stepchildren, Chloe and Louis Campbell; cousins, Chuckie, Robin and Fawn Roberts; recently discovered relatives; and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Boyette Cochran; sister, Lanore Yvonne Cochran; and brothers, Jamie Rodrick Boylan and Henry Lee Quick.
Funeral services were held on July 11, 2026, at Cedar Tree Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Gambino, Marty Cannon, Drew Horn, Doug Young and James and Richard Tolley.
